TRAINING & SEMINARS

Center for Pluralism "Inam" has conducted more than 200 seminars in the field of political, economic, free elections, citizens' education, human rights and etc. More than 6 thousand persons from 40 regions of Azerbaijan participated at these measures.

"YOUNG POLITICAL LEADERS SCHOOL" PROGRAM

"Young Political Leaders School" program is one of the first project from the point of view of preparation young politicians in Azerbaijan during 1996/1999.

In the framework of the program there were conducted 52 seminars with participation more than 200 young members of different political parties of Azerbaijan. Young politicians at these seminars got acquainted with political studies, theoretical and practical experience in democratic countries, pluralistic democracy, human rights, political rights, political movements, structures of some democratic countries, democratic election, different fields of free mass media and politilogy and other themes. Brochures dedicated to each theme of the seminars were published and distributed among participants.

Mainly participants from remote districts of Azerbaijan held meetings and discussions with well-known political leaders of the country, public figures, as well as journalists and politicians arrived from foreign countries. Participants from representatives of various political ideologies acquired habits of intercourse and constructive dialogue.

PROGRAM OF FREE AND FAIR ELECTIONS

Center conducted 1 or 2 days seminar-trainings for members of pro-democratic political parties, electoral headquarters, independent candidates of electoral teams in different cities and districts.

Center held seminar-trainings on the theme "Free elections" in 15 districts of the country on the eve of parliamentary elections in 2000. Nearly 500 active voters, observers and candidates took part.

Brochures published by the Center on the elections were given to all the participants.

WE WANT TO LIVE IN A CIVIC SOCIETY

Center for Pluralism "Inam" has been implementing the program "We want to live in a civic society" since 2000. Our aim in program implementation is increasing public activity, formation and development third sector structures, assist to formation new Initiative Groups and NGOs through seminar-trainings and publications added to it.

In the framework of this program Center held more than 24 seminar-trainings with participation more than 500 activists from 17 regions of Azerbaijan until today.
Seminar-trainings are held in 3 stages:

Themes of the training:

Basis principles of democracy, Structure of civic society, You are active, Which problem does interest you?How will you solve the problem?Volunteers, Stimulus source for volunteers, Strategy of attracting volunteers, Organization, Structure of democratic organization, Activity planning.

2. TRAININGS FOR LEADERS OF NON-GOVERNMENTAL ORGANIZATIONS (three-days)

Themes of the training:

Role of NGOs in society, Leadership style, Ideal leader, Ideal worker, Leadership theories, Formation of leader collective, divisible management, principles of holding sitting, Methods of planning, How to write a proposal, Donors, How to understand sponsor.

3. TRAININGS FOR TRAINERS (week)

Candidates to trainers are selected by seminar participants. After two-week intense trainings participants held different test trainngs with the help of experienced colleagues.

After all these trainers develop their skills and abilities in different trainings, seminars and meetings. For the present Center achieved to hold 1 training. Center for Pluralism "Inam" considers its greatest success the formation of trainers group that leads seminar-trainings independently. This trainer team was formed with the assistance of Foundation for Education for Democracy in Poland and the Institute for Democracy in Eastern Europe of USA.

As opposed to several organizations Center doesn't use labor of experienced trainers and permanent workers-trainers in its activity. We make a deal with trainers representing various local NGOs who passed training through Center's programs and are included into trainer team.

Inam can already effectively spread the ideas of citizen initiative, open society, democracy in different regions of Azerbaijan, assist to growing and organization activists and leaders with democratic thinking, public sector formation and development with new methodological basis.

There were held 20 seminar-trainings in the framework of the program "For human rights protectors living and acting in the regions" in 1999/2001.

PARTICIPANTS

52 human rights protectors from 23 towns and districts of Azerbaijan took part at these seminar-trainings.

Lectures of more than 25 well-known scientists and specialists of the country were listened at these measures. Trainings were held by trainer team of the Center or Pluralism "Inam".
